GH pre-COn meeting to ICGEm2014

The Gender Harmony (GH) pre_Conference meeting to ICGEm 2014 (International Conference on Gender Empowerment) and Exclamation to Anti Domestic Violence is planned to be conducted in Jakarta during 26 to 28 November 2013.

The International  Conference on Gender Empowerment 2012 (see: www.genderempowerment.com ) has been conducted successfully during 10-13 July 2012 in Jakarta and Bandung. Bandung Declaration on Gender Harmony has been endorsed as the result. Gender empowerment is needed, particularly in spreading more harmonious living for women and men, free from poverty and domestic violence towards family welfare. This GH pre-Con meeting is conducted also for supporting the celebration of the 16 Days of activism against gender-based violence (25 Nov - 10 Dec) while considering any new progress on Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) and its application to accelerate the gender empowerment models and programmes for public in various fields of living.
 
Compliments stay at Hotel shall be awarded to the first two participants from the same GH networking country* and extended** (Superior Room, AC, two nights/three days twin sharing with breakfast) with conference material/kit, side visits, transportation and meals during the conference. However, the invited participants need to have their own support for airline ticket. The third participant and more from the same country are requested to give donation for @ US$200,-/person for the whole GH pre-Con programme during 2 nights stay/three days twin sharing in Hotel, including meals, site visits, conference accessories etc. (* limited total conference participants for max 30 persons only)
 
Letter of interest  (LOI: attached) must be received no later than 17 October 2013 while confirmation of itinerary and names must be received no later than Thursday, 7 November 2013; kindly send to secretariaticge@genderempowerment.com; cc to genharmony@gmail.com . Letter of Acceptance (LOA) shall be delivered afterwards as necessary. Each country participant is expected for presentation 15 min to share their topic of interest and or progress for further consideration in the pleno to set up theme and sub-themes of ICGEm2014.

The Goals of this meeting is:
To disseminate action-models on anti domestic violence and preparation to the ICGEm 2014.
 
The Objectives:
1. To review actions on anti domestic violence 
2. To review results of the ICGEm 2012 with site-visits on gender empowerment application
3. To set up priority theme with sub-themes and to confirm the host country for ICGEm2014
 
Tentative programme:
Jakarta, 26-28 November 2013:
 
Day -1: 11 AM Check in (for Foreign participants),  2 - 6 PM: Exclamation day to Anti Domestic Violence with the Indonesian National Women Corps (KOWANI), at Kowani Building, Gender, Education and Politics and Say NO to Violence with media (online, printed, radio etc); and 7 PM onward Side visit to gender empowerment. (KOWANI, has about 86 women organizations attached to it; 100 participants are expected for this Exclamation day)
 
Day -2: Full day meeting at hotel: 8.30 - 17.00 hrs, ( Review of GH in economic, social, culture, health, ICT and education); and free night programme. Participant/country may deliver message on one of the topics above with confirmation to the next host country for ICGEm2014;
 
Day -3: 8 AM - 3.30 PM Side visits to Gender empowerment, checking out;Thank you note, Message from the Next Host ICGEm2014, Closing and departure.

3. Theme and sub-themes of the ICGEm2014
4. Certificates of Participation
5. Brief Report
 
Due to limited resources, and plan for limited participants; we are sorry cannot support more countries to this pre-Conference meeting; first priority is given to countries attended the ICGEm2012 (*) and then the extended ** (see: footnote); however if any of other countries beyond the criteria have certain consideration that might be important to the programme, we might extend the invitation and support. We have already received several countries participation and there will be no more LOI received after 17 October 2013; 23.59 PM Jakarta time. The final list of international participants shall be confirmed based on itinerary received no later than 7 November 2013.
 
It is hoped that we all can meet again in the next International conference on Gender Empowerment in 2014.
Further details will be delivered to interested participants after 17 October 2013.

GH networking countries*:
Attended the ICGEm 2012 in Jakarta and Bandung (*) - as stated in the Bandung Declaration: slide1 - 14 countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Bruneidarussalam, Bangladesh, Philippines, Australia, Yemen, France, Romania, Austria, India, Malawi and Ethiopia .
Attended the GH panel discussion in International Conference in Jakarta, New York, Geneva and Bali (**) - US, Ghana, Italy, Finland, Canada, Argentina, Switzerland, Morocco, Germany, Cameroon, UK, Senegal, Vietnam, Kenya, Nigeria, China, Netherland, Mexico, and Chile. (considered after the first group (*)
